About Judith Thomas, PhD.
Judith
Thomas holds a Ph.D. in sociology from Columbia University, where
her work focused on the dynamics of organizations and families.
She has done in-depth research on the culture and dynamics of organizations
and on post-divorce family structures and interactions.
Dr. Thomas received training in mediation from Community Mediation
Services-Columbus Bar Association in 1991 and advanced training
with the Association for Conflict Resolution and the Ohio Mediation
Association. In 1997, she completed a three-year training program
at the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland in Couple and Family Therapy.
She is a former faculty member of the Sociology/Anthropology
Department at Denison University and the graduate program in Conflict
Resolution at Antioch University. In addition to her private practice,
she is a REDRESS mediator for the U.S. Postal Service and a contract
mediator for The Ohio State University and the Ohio Department
of Education. She is an approved mediator in the Franklin and
Licking County Domestic Courts and guardian ad litem for children
in the latter court.
Professional memberships: Association for Conflict Resolution
(Advanced Practitioner) and Ohio Mediation Association. Licensed
Social Worker with the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage
& Family Therapy Board
